Impacting Lives Across The Globe.

About
Our BAWA Cane Journey
We embarked on a journey to help our late grandmother to cope with her loss of vision due to cataract and glaucoma. To better understand visual impairment and the daily hurdles needed to overcome, we took initiative to understand it from their perspective. The standard white canes are unable to detect obstacles; especially those above knee level. No major innovation of the white cane for the visually impaired has been made yet, whereas guide dogs are expensive and pose acceptance challenges especially in our country (Malaysia).
As a result, we created the BAWA Cane to fill this gap, to impact blind and visually impaired lives across the globe.
We are a team of passionate people who strongly believe it is our mission to revolutionize the way visually impaired could better perceive their environment by empowering them with technological support.
Our believe is that even without sight, there is still effective navigation support.
In 2019, having emerged as 1st runner up for Infineon LG Make Hackathon, BAWACANE (S) SDN BHD is a partner of Infineon Technologies Co-Innovation Space which supports start-ups in viable semiconductor solutions development and fast-tracks their product prototype.
The BAWA Cane Team’s mission is
“to revolutionize the way visually impaired could better perceive their environment by empowering them with technological support”
