That’s why the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has launched the Impact in Society awards to recognise and celebrate the work of teams of technicians and engineers of all types and sizes across different industries and regions.
If you’re a technician or engineer, or part of a team, then this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss. The awards are open for nomination or self-application, and they focus on three categories: Sustainability and Climate Change, Digital Futures, and Healthy Lives.

As a finalist under the Healthy Lives category, my company and I are thrilled to be recognised for our work in this important area. This category is all about the impact of engineering and technology on healthcare, public health, wellbeing, assisted living, and robotics. It’s for those who have made a difference in improving people’s lives, whether it’s through developing medical devices, improving healthcare systems, or addressing social determinants of health.

But what’s on offer? First of all, there’s the Trophy – a symbol of your hard work and dedication to making a positive impact in society. There’s also an awards ceremony where you’ll have the chance to network with other like-minded individuals and teams.
